CONNECTION

■ When connecting the controller to power system caution should be exercised for the followings.
    · Make sure the power is off before connecting the controller to power system.

    · When connecting C.T, please be sure to the directions of k,l and make not to be overlapped
      when the respective phase of R.S.T is used as C.T and power. ( However, please don't use
      the phase N) The remained two phase after C.T connection shall be used as the power such
      as the C.T is R phase if the power is of phase S and T, and power shall be of phase R and
      T in cases C.T is phase S.
    · If step output ratio is 1:1:2:2 / 1:2:2:2 / 1:2:3:3 / 1:2:3:4 / 1:2:4:4 / 1:2:3:6 / 1:2:4:8 connect the
      output relay terminal C1 to a capacitor of the lowest output, C2 to a capacitor of the second-
      lowest output and so on.
    · Pull the wires softly to make sure it does not come out, after connected to the terminal block.

SETTING & PROGRAMMING

■ TARGET POWER FACTOR

  Please adjust with the cosφ⑦ dial of Fig.1. The range of the adjustment is 0.8 ~ 1.0
    for Lagging and 1 ~ 0.95 for Leading (red scaled) can be set. The terger power
    factor which user wants can be set.

■ C/K VAULE
    The value of C/K is to be set by dial ⑤ of Fig.1 according to the calculated value based on the
    formula as below.

    · setting range = 0.03 to 1.0
                    C/K = smallest capacitor step size in kvars ×1000 ×5 /
3 VI

V=nominal primary system voltage.

I=primary rating of the current transformer

            Example.
                                 C1 capacitor = 50kvar

V = 380V

I = 500A

                                ∴  C/K = 50 ×1000 ×5 / 3 ×380 ×500 = 0.76

■ CLOSING DELAY TIME
    Set the desired delay time by dial  of Fig.1.
    The possible setting arrangement is 9 - 300 seconds.
    Even though it is set as 0 - 9 seconds, it operates 9 seconds later for safety.

■ SELECTOR SWITCH SETTINGS
    DIP SWITCH SETTING HAS TO BE MADE BEFORE POWER ON.
    Set the sequence and limit with the ⑮ DIP switch of Fig.1 as the Fig.2.

DISPLAY MODE

■ The lamp AUTO and MAN is changed by the push of ⑥ button of Fig.1

■ MAN

It is possible to adjust the increase / decrease of capacitor steps by press the ⑧button of Fig.1 by "+", "-", Irrespective to the actual power factor, the capacitor steps are increased when they are "+" and decreased when "-" according to the preset hour.

■ AUTO

If press ⑧ button when it is in auto mode, %Vn, %In, cosφ on the line are displayed in sequence.The displayed figure is shown as nominal V or A as %. When cosφ is on display; if "1" is display on first digit, current power factor value on the line is LEAD status. if there is nothing on display. it is LAG status.

■ SETTING DISPLAY

AUTO/MAN lamp is off if pushing ⑥button of Fig.1 for 3 seconds, and it is changed to the setting mode. The preset C/K, PF, TIME is shown on the display and the C/K LAMP, PF LAMP and TIME (without lamp) are on sequentially by pressing ⑧ button. Press ⑥button 3 seconds when return.

COMMISSIONING

Commissioning shall be made as follows.

    1. Set the sequence and limit and check the wiring before power is on.

        CAUTION : Direction of C.T
    2. Set the cosφ, C/K, TIME.
    3. Make it in AUTO mode by pressing AUTO/MAN button.
    4. IND LAMP is on when the capacitor is on and CAP LAMP is on when the capacitor is off.
    5. Both IND & CAP LAMP are off when the target power factor is in the range.
